Dear Neighbor,
My name is Hanley Chan and I respectfully ask for your support for my candidacy for Broadmoor Police Commissioner. I have engaged in dialogue with many of our constituents who continually express the need for accountability, transparency and positive change within the Broadmoor Police Commission. I am the most qualified candidate and I can deliver on my pledges.
Pledges that include (but are not limited to):
• Open the commission meetings to the public in a more accessible and transparent method.
• Implement a language access program in for our growing minority populations
of Filipinos, Asians, and Hispanics. Translations in Spanish, Chinese, and
Tagalog should be readily available.
• Create a program for the youth with police participation and supervision.
• I will advocate for a subcommittee made up of residents
with an on-the-ground grassroots assessment of the issues and changes that
should be addressed around our neighborhoods.
I am proud and humbled to have the endorsements of elected officials such as:
State Controller Hon. John Chiang
State Board of Equalization Hon. Betty Yee
Daly City Vice-Mayor Hon. Mike Guingona
Daly City Councilwoman Hon. Carol Klatt
San Mateo Commission on Disability Hon. Fel Amistad
Bart Board VP Hon. James Fang
San Mateo Board of Education Hon. Rod Hsiao
Daly City Planning Commissioner Hon. Ray Satorre
City of Campbell Vice Mayor Hon. Evan Low

I also have gained several key organization/ club endorsements:
Friends of the Filipino American Community

I have put together a strong and diverse campaign to lead us in this grass-roots campaign for strong and experienced leadership.
We will work diligently to win the votes of our neighbors, local organizations, and elected officials. I will talk with each resident in the precincts, walking the area block by block. We will identify our supporters and turn them out on Election Day, November 3, 2009. Thank you for your consideration.
I look forward to working on your behalf to make Broadmoor a safer and stronger community!
Sincerely,
Patrol Special Hanley Chan
